Voter Registration

Voter registration can be done in several ways:

1.      At the Registry of Motor Vehicles when you are obtaining, renewing or changing your license.

2.      At any city or town clerks office (or Board of Registrars office)

3.   Through the mail on an original mail-in form.  Certain forms are not acceptable such as photocopied Massachusetts or photocopied National forms or downloaded forms.


To register to vote in Massachusetts you must:

·       BE A U.S. CITIZEN; and 
·       Be a Massachusetts resident; and
·       Be at least 18 years old on or before the next election.


Penalty for illegal Registration:  Fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than five years or both.
                                 -Massachusetts General Laws, chapter 56 section 8.

Your voter registration must be received by this office or postmarked on or before the following deadlines:  20 days before a state primary, state election, town election, annual town meeting and 10 days before a special town meeting.
