The Planning Board is a five member elected Board with terms staggered so that each year, one member is elected at the Annual Town Election for a five year term. The Planning Board is responsible for ensuring that new land development meets both state (Chapter 41 Subdivision Control Law) and local zoning regulations. Some of the duties of the Planning Board include reviewing subdivision plans, Form A plans (application for endorsement of plan believed not to require approval); Form B plans (preliminary plans); Form C plans (application for approval of a definitive plan); Form D plans (covenant); site plans and requests for new driveway cuts. The Planning Board also holds hearings concerning articles to be considered at Town Meeting on rezoning, zoning definitions and regulations.
If you would like to schedule an appointment to appear before the Planning Board, please call Pauline Ashley, Secretary to the Planning Board, at (508) 946-8803 on Mondays and Thursdays and you will be given an appointment time. Plans and documents may be dropped off at the Selectmen's Office for the Planning Board Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
