| Board of Selectmen |
Responsible for administering the general by-laws of the Town; issue liquor licenses; earth removal permits and various other issues relating to general government |
| Accounting |
Processes invoices for payment; prepares annual budget for Town |
| Animal Control Officer |
Enforces animal control laws; operates Town's animal shelter |
| Assessor's |
To assess properties at full and fair market value based on sale prices; tax rate determined by spending authorized at Town Meeting. |
| Board of Health |
Oversees installation of septic systems and private wells, licensing of food establishment, enforces public health laws. |
| Building |
Enforces Massachusetts building code regulations, issued building, plumbing, gas and electrical permits. |
| Council on Aging |
Provides services and activities for senior citizens in the communty. |
| Fire |
Provides fire protection and ambulance service for the Town; issues burning, propane, smoke detector and oil burning equipment permits |
| Highway |
Responsible for maintenance of public roadways |
| Library |
Provides books to the public for free. Hosts children's programs and summer reading programs. |
| Parks |
Responsible for the operation of Ted Willams Camp, John Paun Park and Clear Pond Park |
| Payroll |
Adminsters health insurance program for Town employees; processes payroll for employees. |
| Police |
Responsible for enforcing local, state and federal laws and providing for the safety of residents. |
| Town Clerk |
Issues birth and death certificiates, wedding licenses, dog licenses, hunting licenses, keeper of the public records. |
| Transfer Station |
Operates the Town's landfill; issues landfill stickers. |
| Treasurer/Collector |
Handles inquiries and collects payment of real estate taxes, excise taxes, and personal property taxes. |
| Veteran's Services |
Provides assistance with veteran issues for residents. |
