The Lakeville Conservation Commission reviews proposed projects located in or near resource areas and then issues a permit regulating and conditioning the proposed work to ensure the interests of the Wetlands Protection Act (WPA). Project applications are available through the Department of Environmental Protection and the Lakeville Conservation Commission Office. They are also available on-line (see links). Public hearings must be held for all applications and a public notice is printed in the New Bedford Standard Times at least five business days prior to the opening of the public hearing. Lakeville Conservation Commission decisions may be appealed to Mass DEP in accordance with the WPA Regulations.
Monthly meetings of the Lakeville Conservation Commission are held on the second Tuesday of the month, unless it is a holiday. While we do not have designated hours, we are in and out of the office during during the week, and appointments can be made for any day or time to view records or request information.
